The Kyushu region is located in the southwestern part of Japan. In western Kyushu, Saga Prefecture, is a cherry tree, known to locals as the “100-year old Sakura” tree. The tree is at least a century old. It sits in the midst of a broad, dark green hillside of tea plantations. There, the old venerate tree stands majestically.
During the spring cherry blossom season, many tourists flock to the site, gasping at the awesome beauty of the regal giant.
